Going for the dolphins and Vikramshila. How do I get to Bhagalpur?

Bhagalpur Junction is the station, with the Vikramshila Express from Delhi and trains from Patna and Kolkata. Nearest airports are Deoghar (DGH) about 100 km, and Patna (PAT) 220 km / 5–6 h by road; Bagdogra and Kolkata are further. Once there, book a boatman at Barari ghat the evening before for a dawn dolphin trip, and base yourself here for Vikramshila (45 km east) and Mandar Hill (45 km south).
