Kakolat Falls — is the road okay in monsoon?

Thinking of going in August when it's at full flow. Worried about the approach road.

August–September is exactly when it's best. The road from Nawada (33 km) is fine for a car; it's the last stretch and the steps down that get slippery, so wear proper footwear. Weekends are packed — go on a weekday morning. Bring a change of clothes because everyone bathes. It also works as a loop day: Rajgir → Kakolat (75 km, ~2 h) → Bodh Gaya.
